Cacti and succulents are a great starting point for teaching the basics of biology, and their beautiful flowers and forms can inspire art and creativity.
As a wonderfully diverse selection of plants, they are filled with examples of evolutionary adaptation to suit their environment, and complex relationships with pollinators. The role of these plants in their ecosystems and the threats they face from climate change and habitat loss are important lessons for today’s world.
